CONSTRUCTION

Our Construction Ministry began in the Summer of 2002. Over the years since Mission of Hope began, it has been apparent one of the greatest areas of need was in the area of construction and renovation. We still encounter the house “up in the holler” with occasional dirt floors and no running water. It is hard to conceive in this day and time that not far away from large cities in rural Appalachian areas, these conditions still exist.

If you have contacts in the construction products industry, please feel free to share them with our office.  We still have several requests for construction repairs for which we need teams to take on the projects. If your team is interested in one of these projects or you would like to join one of our Teams for future events, please call the MOH office at (865-694-4673 or 584-7571) or e-mail us at info@missionofhope.org.

Thanks for your friendship and support, but thanks most of all for helping extend the Hope!

Bell County, KY - Repair Fair
We were richly blessed to have 35 MOH Volunteers come with us April 25; for the Bell County, KY - Repair Fair. One of our Volunteers this year, was the lady we helped with the recent Air Force Academy/BSU Mission Team; who wanted to help us help someone else. We left early and returned late; but it was hopefully a Blessed Day for all of those who worked so hard.

Our task was way out in the country at a dear Lady's home. Her name is Mrs. Virginia and her Husband died 4 years ago. Her house was in desperate need of a lot of work. We put up vinyl siding, repaired her front porch and also did some landscaping, painting, and trash pickup along the little road off which she lives. As we prepared to leave, we all gathered with her and had prayer. She was humbly grateful for all we did.

We will be scheduling a return trip to finish our tasks; after I return from Nicaragua. If you are perhaps interested in going back with us; please call the MOH Office (865-584-7571) and let them know.

A Front Porch for Mrs. Lizzy
Imagine this: you have no porch and or proper secure steps to get you in and out of your modest Mobile Home, so you crawl out the door and gently lower yourself down to the ground-day after day in all kinds of weather. That is what Mrs. Lizzy has had to do each and every day for quite some time. And she is 84 years old. She won't have to do that anymore.

A special and heart felt Thank You, to our MOH Friends Rev. Dick DeMerchant & Mickey Barger and his "Hammerin Hero's Team" from First Baptist Church-Lenoir City; who went with me yesterday to Oneida, TN.

We built much needed porches & ramps; for both Mrs. Lizzy and Mrs. Patty; whom we met through our dear friend Ella Smith with Morgan-Scott Project. Now they both can actually come outside and enjoy the Spring days and also cherish the Hope inspired by those willing to come and serve; by their loving actions. We also prayed with and for both Families before we departed to come home.

Thanks for your friendship and support and for helping us keep extending the Hope.
