Dear Friends;

Today is a very special day in the life of our Thompson Family.

Twenty five years ago my wife Valarie and I were living in Nashville, TN and our children were very young. I traveled extensively and we were searching for a church home. Through a new friend we had made, we found one Clearview Baptist Church. Their pastor, Bob Norman, was a wonderful inspirational Godly servant who became my close friend. And his wife, Jean Norman, was a wonderful encouraging Godly lady who became Valarie\’s close friend.

At a time of personal crisis in my own life Brother Bob helped me work through various struggles and anxiety\’s and helped me see clearly the need for drastic change in my life and in my heart and in my faith. He truly was God\’s vessel of healing and hope for me.

On November 4th, 1989, twenty five years ago today, Brother Bob baptized me; and when I came up out of the water my life was changed forever. Within a short period of time God began my ministry journey path which continues on even today.

I am so grateful for this dear couple\’s roll in my life and the lives and heritage of our entire family, both present and future. Brother Bob passed away a few years ago and we got to attend his celebration service. I sent his dear bride Jean some beautiful flowers today. And I thanked her from the depth of my heart for being there for us, and not giving up on me.

All day long I have been somewhat reflective in my thoughts, of that moment 25 years ago when God used two very special servants to help walk a worthless sinner into a saved eternity. Words will never be able to express the humbleness and gratitude I have for all of those who reached out to me and helped me. And I will always cherish the love and prayers of my dear wife and so many others who gave me True Hope.

Sincerest Regards;
Emmette Thompson – Executive Director – Mission Of Hope
